Creating an Infographic?

Try one of these sites!

easel.ly.com is a site to easily create infographics. My first impression of this site was positive. I began by searching through the templates for ideas and inspiration for an assignment I was working on. The choices are all bright and colorful. It's easy to click through the various options to see what's available to work with. The site does have an optional grid to help with alignment of objects, but other than the wide variety of templates, everything else was too limited for my taste. In order to obtain more than five objects, icons, or even graphs, you would have to upgrade to a paid subscription. It does allow for uploads of your own graphics and icons, though. This site, however,  might be ideal for beginners who need something ready-made or something simple to create themselves.

infogr.am.com is another site to create infographics with ease.
This site seems just as easy to maneuver as easel.ly. It also has a good choice of templates to choose from. They seem a bit more clean-lined and simple. Clicking through the various options allows you to see what is available to work with. I was pleasantly surprised that the site has an option for inserting maps. That could be a great resource for school projects. It also has a large selection of graphs and charts to use. I think the students might really like the ability to include stickers and GIFs as well. The site also allows for integration of various media. On the down side, I didn’t like that the choices of objects and icons were a bit limited, and the ones provided with the free subscription were somewhat plain. Like easel.ly, this site allows for uploading of your own graphics and icons. Overall though, this site could be easily utilized for your infographic needs.

Piktochart.com, a third choice for creating infographics, definitely has a wide variety of templates to choose from. It has options for including maps and a wide choice of charts and graphs as well. The site is very easy to maneuver, and I appreciated the fact that the free subscription included many icon and graphic choices. I think that the wide selection of available objects to choose from was what hooked me. Although the option to upload needed graphics and objects is available, the great selection supplied with the site is more than enough to find whats needed.  Another neat feature is when including objects. Red grid lines appear in various places to help with the alignment of various objects on the page. This makes the project easy to allign when creating from scratch.  The site also allows for easy grouping of objects, and the editing functions can be easily accessed by right clicking.
